I follow a few Instagram accounts that are all about nails, one of them posted that she also could never get marbling right but had had luck after watching some tutorials from @sloteazzy so I started following her and she does lots of marbling tutorials. I then had a search on you tube and picked up a few tips and decided to give it another go last night!
- A small pot of water, I left this for 30mims so it was room temp. Trust me cold water straight from the tap will not work!
- Nail varnish, at least 2. I wasn't sure if different brands would react differently but the ones I have used are a hot pink OPI & plum Barry m & also blue Barry m from their jelly range.
- A tool to mix the polish with, you could also use a pin or an orange stick.
- A cotton bud for easy & beat clean up with your nail varnish remover as things are going to get messy!
Open up all the nail varnishes for quick access and begin dripping the polish one by one and you should start to get a bullseye.
I didn't expect this to go well so I didn't take many photos! Next time I will take more for a full step by step.
One you have a large bullseye, preferably filling the waters surface you can then use your pin tool and lightly drag it around the polish top to make a pattern.
Place your nail in flat so the water surface/polish sticks to your nail. Push your nail all the way down in to the water then use your tool to swish away the rest of the polish left on top if the water (you don't want this to stick to your nail when you pull out of the water).
Then clean up with your cotton bud and nail varnish remover and then add top coat when dry.
My final results aren't all perfectly matching or as glam a those tutorials you see but I like it and hopefully the more I try the better it will get!
