Creepy crawly hating gardening

I really hate creepy crawlies, not all of them worms and woodlice are ok I guess but spiders and beetles are another matter. Michaels mam had given us some plants for the garden as it was a bit bare, and I didn't have a trowel =( For a creepy crawly hater this is a major problem! Hurrah Michael found a for at his mams which was better than nothing! It at least meant i did not really have to dig my hands in to the dirt eeeew!

So Saturday as i said in my previous post i was just pottering around, it was so sunny  felt guilty not doing the garden lol So here's how I got on...

I started off by recycling this hanging basket, it was a bit manky and unloved from the previous tenants so I tossed the old dead stuff and dug over the soil and then selected a few of my favourites from the plant trays. Although I did have to tease the roots when planting the new plants it was ok because nothing too creepy could have been lurking in them, that's what I told myself anyways!

I topped the tub off with some standard soil and taaa daaah it looks lovely again =)
It has pride of place right next to my front door.

It was then time to use the rest of the plants and tackle the rockery/bit of soil we have lol.
See all those rocks, well threes definitely stuff lurking under them and all that ivy to the right, yep for sure creepies in there!

Before I planted the new plants I dug over the soil and threw in all these bulbs (also from michaels mam) so hopefully when winter comes, sooner than later apparently, all these lovelys will pop up =) *fingers crossed*

So I then planted the new plants on top of the bulbs. Im hoping they bulk out a bit because it does look a little sparse right now lol but hey its better than how it looked to start with! =)

I then took some lovely close ups to show the flowers true beauty. I love the deep red and yellow together in the top right photo =)

After planting the flowers i stepped back and thought the rest of the garden (the patio) looked a tip so i couldn't just leave it! Also one of those weeds was a nasty spikey one and it got my foot =(
So i got on my hands and knees and did the best I could with the fork. Michaels going to bring some poison from work and spray the patio so they don't come back, the ones where I couldn't quite get the roots.

Alfie clearly wanted to help as he watched me the whole time out of the basement kitchen window. Hes not allowed out yet because he's only just moved in! =)
